Our Story

A Legacy of Ingenuity and Excellence

Tag-Lok® is a proudly American-made lockout/tagout (LOTO) safety device company with roots dating back to 1985. Founded by Mark Romberger, a U.S. military veteran and retired electrical linesman, Tag-Lok was born from necessity. Mark knew the job and the risks firsthand. Frustrated with the limitations of traditional lockout/tagout tools, he took matters into his own hands and designed a better, more durable solution: the Tag-Lok safety device.

Built to withstand the elements—including wind, rain, and snow—Tag-Lok quickly earned a reputation for weather-resistant lockout/tagout protection and unmatched tag visibility. Its unique design protects critical safety tags between two clear, impact-resistant lenses, keeping vital instructions clean and legible in the toughest job site conditions.

In 2021, James Horn acquired Tag-Lok and brought new energy to the business. While modernizing parts of the assembly process, James has preserved the company’s core values: quality craftsmanship, small-business service, and an unwavering commitment to safety. Today, every Tag-Lok device is still individually assembled and packaged with care.
